Port Moody, BC— The Coastal Tsunami (18-24-1-1) have earned their first victory of 2025 thanks to a 6-4 win in Port Moody (12-29-2-1).
Coastal led the entire game, scoring their first goal at the 2:56 mark of the opening period thanks to a power play goal from Jake Yakubowski (13), who would score another late in the frame for his fourteenth of the season and for the third time in the third period on a man advantage to pick up a hat-trick and his fifteenth of the year. Ben Walker (11), Oliver Nottingham (18), and Reegan Kominko (3) finished the scoring.
The Panthers had tallies from Aidan Samuels (9 PP), Beckham Angus (9), Daegun Chong (5), and Bradley Thompson (3).
Coastal is back home on Friday, January 31, to host the Grandview Steelers. Tickets are available online and at the arena.
