A Rollercoaster Week for the Tsunami… But the Tide’s Turning

This week brought a mix of highs and lows for your Coastal Tsunami, because as much as we’d all love it, you just can’t win them all.

We kicked things off on the road in Delta on December 3rd, where the Ice Hawks arrived with something to prove after their loss at the GACC last Sunday. It was a tough one for the Tsunami, ending in a 6–2 defeat.

With the week feeling a little gloomy, we decided it was time to shake things up… so we sent our media crew on the road to Richmond to bring some hometown energy to the boys. The bus ride over was quiet and focused, as the team zeroed in on one goal: beating the Sockeyes for the first time this season.

Tsunami fans showed up in full force, sounding so loud you’d swear they were the home crowd. And it worked. The spark, the noise, the belief, it all came together in a huge 4–1 win. The bus ride home was anything but quiet.

On Saturday, we were back at the GACC to take on the Langley Trappers. It was First Shift Night, and fans were treated to an adorable, energetic mini-game from our First Shift players after the first period. No idea who won, but there were a lot of pucks in the net and the crowd loved every second of it. Unfortunately, the main event didn’t go quite as well, with the Tsunami falling 5–1 to the Trappers.

This week is a slower one for the Tsunami as they gear up to face the Chilliwack Jets on the road on December 14th and take some much-needed rest in the meantime.

If you’re already missing them, don’t worry, you can catch the boys at Marino’s Independent Grocer in Sechelt this week selling snowballs for our upcoming Snowball Toss game on December 20th. Swing by, say hi, and grab your snowballs to help support Sunshine Coast Secret Santa!

See you on the 20th!
