The Coastal Tsunami is looking for caring billet families to welcome our players for the upcoming season.
Each year, athletes from across Canada and around the world travel to the Sunshine Coast to pursue their hockey dreams. For many, it’s their first time living away from home, making the support of a welcoming billet family an important part of their experience both on and off the ice.
Billet families provide more than just a place to stay, they provide a safe, positive environment where players can feel at home while they focus on school, hockey, and personal growth. Many billet families build friendships and connections that last well beyond a single season.
What You’ll Provide
- A private bedroom (or suitable private living space)
- Access to bathroom facilities
- Nutritious meals
- A safe, caring, and supportive home environment
- Guidance and encouragement as players adjust to life on the Sunshine Coast
What You’ll Receive
- A monthly honorarium for each player housed
- Two (2) Coastal Tsunami Season Tickets per player
- Invitations to team events
- The opportunity to be an important part of a young athlete’s journey
Billet Season
Players typically arrive between mid-August and early September for training camp and the start of the school year. Housing continues through the hockey season, which runs until March, with playoff teams potentially extending into April or May.
