Sunshine Coast, B.C. – General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield announced today that the team has committed to 2005-born forward Dawson Thomas (Penticton, BC).
Thomas (6’0”, 176 pounds) began his junior hockey career with the Kamloops Storm of the KIJHL, where he registered three points in 12 games.
Two seasons later, the Tsunami acquired him from the Williams Lake Mustangs, and he scored a goal and an assist for two points in twelve games.
Thomas has suited up in 70 KIJHL games with the Kamloops Storm, Summerland Steam, and Williams Lake Mustangs.
Thomas looks forward to bringing his junior hockey skills to the PJHL with the Coastal Tsunami. “I’m excited to play in a new league with new guys and am ready for a playoff push,” he said. He also looks forward to being in a place where he can “golf on off days!”
Dawson will add much-needed depth and experience to the Tsunami forward group. He was an alternate captain over the past two seasons in the KIJHL. “Thomer is a workhorse with sharp defensive details. He will be allowed to work and add to the offensive side of the game with us,” said General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield. “Look for him to be a big addition to our penalty-kill unit,” he added.
The Coastal Tsunami would like to welcome Dawson and his family to the Sunshine Coast.
