
Ethan Smid, from Williams Lake, British Columbia, brings a strong hockey background and recent playing experience to the Coastal Tsunami coaching staff. He played two seasons in the CIHL with the Williams Lake Stampeders and competed in the 101st Coy Cup, gaining experience in competitive hockey environments.
Smid spent the 2023–24 season with the Coastal Tsunami as a player, giving him firsthand familiarity with the organization and its culture. He has also served as an Assistant Coach with Williams Lake Minor Hockey at the U18 Tier 2 level, focusing on player development and supporting athletes as they progress through the minor hockey system.
Now returning to the Tsunami as an Assistant Coach, Smid brings a player-focused perspective and a strong understanding of team systems and development.
