The Coastal Tsunami is pleased to share that Associate Coach Caymen Froude has been selected as an assistant coach at this year’s BCHC Top Prospects Game. The third annual BCHC Prospects Game is on Tuesday, November 19th, at the George Preston Recreation Centre in Langley, BC.
Froude has guided his team to a 7-6-1-1 record in its inaugural campaign and, according to General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield, has been a valuable contributor to the team. “I’m thrilled for Frodo to step up and to be selected to man the bench at the top prospects game; it’s super valuable for him early in his coaching career to get the experience to work with other top bench staff,” he said.
Wingfield sees great value in Froude’s participation in the event, saying, “From coaching top prospects from our league to seeing what other coaches and players are doing, to working in a high-level event, it is very valuable for him and the Tsunami to have him represent our organization, and of course, we wish him the best of luck.
Froude played minor hockey for the Sunshine Coast Blues and four seasons of junior hockey across the KIJHL and VIJHL. He also spent three seasons as Head Coach for SCMHA, leading his teams to two provincial appearances in just three seasons and achieving both the regular season and playoff championships in his rookie Head Coach season.
Froude is incredibly honoured and grateful to be selected as an assistant coach for the BCHC Prospects Game. “It’s a tremendous opportunity, and I’m excited to contribute to showcasing the talent within our league, helping these players gain visibility with WHL teams and higher-level programs,” he explained.
Team rosters for the inaugural BCHC Prospects Game will be announced on Tuesday, November 5th. Please visit the PJHL website to read the full press release.
