‘Tis the season for hockey! The Coastal Tsunami (15-16-1-1) has one game left before a much-needed holiday break as the club visits Port Moody (8-22-2-1) for the first time in franchise history.
Coastal has beaten the Panthers twice on the Sunshine Coast, with final scores of 7-1 on September 14 and 7-2 on November 8. A third victory against the Panthers would get the Tsunami back to .500 and one point back of the North Vancouver Wolf Pack for the fifth and final playoff spot in the Tom Shaw Conference.
The Panthers are losers of their past three games and have only scored three times in that span. The lack of goals has a lot to do with the team trading away forwards Connor Hughes (28-15-33-48) and Ty Balchen (33-27-23-50) to the White Rock Whalers on December 12.
