Sunshine Coast, B.C. – General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield announced today that the team has committed to 2007-born forward Hunter Henry (Prince George, BC).
Henry (5’7”, 170 pounds) spent the past season with the Burnaby Winter Club U17 Prep team, totaling 10 goals and 22 assists for 32 points in 26 regular season games. He also played seven regular season games with the Burnaby Winter Club U18 Prep team, assisting on two goals.
“I’m looking forward to being a part of this great organization and coaching staff,” he said. “I’m excited to join this community and bring some awesome hockey here.”
The right-shot forward captained and led one of the nation’s top U17 CSSHL teams with BWC prep gold last season.
“Hank brings a complete 200-foot game, which includes packing an offensive punch, paying close attention to detail in the defensive zone, and bringing a ton of grit. He can get under his opponents’ skin and is not afraid to mix it up,” said Head Coach and General Manager Brad Wingfield.
“The coast will appreciate the type of game that Hunter will put on display when the Tsunami hits the ice in September,” he added.
Henry is the third of many players committed to playing for the new expansion franchise, the Tsunami, which will begin its preseason in August.
