Sunshine Coast, B.C. – General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield announced today that the team has committed to 2005-born forward Jake Yakubowski (Saskatoon, SK).
Yakubowski (6’2”, 185 pounds) spent the past season in the KIJHL with the Golden Rockets. He played in 33 games, registered three goals, and added four assists for seven points.
“I’m excited to be a part of a new organization. I’m looking forward to the season and being a member of the Tsunami,” said Yakubowski.
The right-shot forward suited up in the home opener last weekend and adds veteran experience to the organization.
“With Yaks, we gain a big body that skates extremely well and has a good set of hands; he fits seamlessly with our group,” said General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield. “I’m super happy for Jake to be here on the West Coast,” he added.
Yakubowski is the twenty-third player committed to playing for the new expansion franchise, the Tsunami, which will host two games at the GACC this weekend.
