Sunshine Coast, B.C. – General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield announced today that the team has committed to 2006-born defenceman Kael Jackson (Richland, WA).
Jackson (5’11”, 168 pounds) was with Indiana Elite 18U AAA and played 17 games, registering four assists in THF 18U, had one goal in 11 games with NAT1HL 18U, one goal and four assists for five points in 52 games with 18U AAA, and played an additional four games in EP Cup Series 18U.
The left-shot blueliner says, “It’s an awesome opportunity playing for the Tsunami here in Gibsons, and I’m grateful to be a part of it,” said Jackson. “Lots of great pieces coming together to make this thing happen, and I’m itching to get things going,” he added.
Jackson brings a solid transitional game with him to the Sunshine Coast.
“With Kael, we get a very solid defender who brings strong skating and is quick on recovering pucks and transitioning up ice,” said General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield. “He makes great first passes and can jump in on the rush,” added Wingfield.
Jackson is the twentieth player committed to playing for the new expansion franchise, the Tsunami, which will begin its preseason this month.
