Sunshine Coast, B.C. – General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield announced today that the team has committed to 2006-born defenceman Keiran Wilkie (Coquitlam, BC).

Wilkie (5’10”, 145 pounds) spent the past season in the CSSHL with the U17 Burnaby Winter Club Prep 2 team. He played in 30 games, registered one goal, and added 11 assists for 12 points.

“I am excited to be part of the Coastal Tsunami’s inaugural season and looking forward to a new experience playing junior hockey,” said Wilkie.

The left-shot player has done it all for the Tsunami, from being a standout at the team’s inaugural ID camp to being a mainstay on the U21 spring team.

“Wilks always brings a positive vibe, never a complaint, and showed us his adaptability playing anywhere in the line up from defence to the wing to center, you don’t see that very often,” said General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield.

“He always has a smile on his face. He is a great kid, and we look forward to working with him on his development,” he added.

Wilkie is the sixteenth player committed to playing for the new expansion franchise, the Tsunami, which will begin its preseason in August.
