Local hockey legend Brad Wingfield from a recent interview:
What does it mean to you to be the Head Coach and General Manager of the Coastal Tsunami?
It’s a big honour and a huge responsibility that I don’t take lightly.
To be given this opportunity here at home on the Coast is something I’ve dreamed about for a very long time. I take full responsibility for providing a team that competes hard every time we step on the ice, whether for practice or games. We are here to provide entertainment, to put a good product on the ice with high-character players and people on and off the ice, and to give the community something to get behind, cheer on, and build around for years to come.
What are your thoughts on tonight’s events?
It’s an excellent opportunity for the coast to show they are hungry and ready to support their own high-level hockey team and love for hockey in general, to come out and be a part of the start of something big hockey-wise, to come to see some of the former Canuck greats, to check out the show the junior hockey club leadership group puts on and to see generations of past SCMHA players in action. It’s a great chance to be part of the future of Coast hockey!
