Sunshine Coast, B.C. – General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield announced today that the team has committed to 2005-born forward Raydon Parkes (West Kelowna, BC).
Parkes (5’11”, 154 pounds) spent the past season in the VIJHL with the Campbell River Storm. He played in 35 games, registered 14 goals, and added 25 assists for 39 points.
” It’s pretty nice to be part of a new franchise, and I think it’s a better step to get me to the next level. Brad is a really good coach, and I think he can get me there,” said Parkes.
The right-shot player is a welcomed addition to the Tsunami roster. He will have an immediate impact on the team.
“With Parkesy, we get an established scorer, a guy who can put up big numbers and play in all situations; he brings experience with him as well,” said General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield.
“He will be well-liked in the locker room and provide leadership to our Group,” added Wingfield.
Parkes is the twenty-second player committed to playing for the new expansion franchise, the Tsunami, which will begin its regular season tonight.
