Sassy Tsu’s Weekend Wrap: Big Crowds, Big Wins, Big Waves!

Two games in one weekend? After a two-week break? Now that’s what I call a comeback! And wow, did our fans ever show up. The arena was absolutely buzzing on both Saturday and Sunday, because if there’s one thing we know about the Sunshine Coast, it’s that you all love your hockey.

Saturday night kicked things off with a epic match against the Ridge Meadows Flames. The Tsunami still had that 5–1 loss fresh in their memories, and oh boy, did they come ready to settle the score. With a hard-fought 4–3 win, the boys got their redemption… but let’s be honest, our fans were hungry for more.

Enter Sunday night. The Delta Ice Hawks rolled into the GACC for a showdown with your Sunshine Coast Blues… I mean, your Coastal Tsunami. We celebrated minor hockey all evening long, and the energy was electric. The game went into overtime, and when Parkes buried the game-winner, the roar from the crowd was heard all the way up in Earls Cove.

To wrap up the weekend, the team signed autographs for their minor hockey fans. We saw merch, the brand-new Tsunami calendars, and even a hockey stick being signed. Giving back to the fans was the cherry on top of a perfect hockey weekend.

And now, it’s a busy week ahead. The Tsunami face the Delta Ice Hawks on December 3rd, the Richmond Sockeyes on December 4th, and then they’re back home on December 6th to take on the Langley Trappers. After the first period, our First Shift players will hit the ice for their very first game. You don’t want to miss it!

See you there, Tsunami fam!
