It was double the fun at the GACC this weekend as your Coastal Tsunami faced off against the Chilliwack Jets on February 13th and 14th.
Friday night was a thriller. The Tsunami headed into the third period with a strong 4–1 lead, but the Jets battled back, and after 60 minutes of hard-fought hockey, the game was tied 5–5. You could feel the tension in the arena heading into overtime. Despite a solid effort in OT, the Jets edged out the Tsunami 6–5. Standout performances came from Braeden Payne, Raydon Parkes, Kael Jackson, Luke Curtin, and Brayden Burrows… who faced an incredible 56 shots on net.
The Tsunami returned to the ice on the 14th energized and feeding off the incredible GACC crowd. They opened the scoring with two goals and carried a 2–0 lead into the second period. Chilliwack responded with three of their own in the second to take a 3–2 lead. The third period was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams scoring twice, but the Jets ultimately secured a 5–4 victory. Tsunami standouts included Raydon Parkes, Foxx McColl, Luke Curtin, Braeden Payne, and Brayden Burrows.
The weekend wrapped up with the second annual Tsunami Awards Ceremony. Congratulations to this year’s winners:

The Tsunami have two games left to close out the regular season. They hit the road on February 20th to face the Burnaby Steelers, then return home on February 21st to take on the Langley Trappers.
At the February 21st game, we’ll be celebrating the best fans in the league… you! Team photos will be available at the door, and players will stick around after the game for an autograph session.
