The Coastal Tsunami (7-5-1-1) played an exhilarating contest against the Sockeyes (12-3), but they lost 3-2 in overtime.
Chances, goals, and penalties went both ways during the game. Both teams scored a goal on the man advantage, and the Sockeyes even scored a short-handed marker.
Teo Lin (8,9) led the charge offensively for the Sockeyes, while Nicholas Noren (12) scored the game-winning goal.
Goals for the Tsunami came off the sticks of Raydon Parkes (7) and Oliver Nottingham (8), who scored on the power play.
Overall, the Coastal Tsunami used this weekend to prove that they can hang in there with one of the top teams in the PJHL but still have a few things to improve.
The Delta Ice Hawks are up next, with a visit to the GACC scheduled for Saturday night.
Tickets are available online and at the arena.
