Tsunami Set for Meaningful Night as Community Rallies in Support

It was another one-game week in Tsunami Nation as your Tsunami hit the ice against the Ridge Meadows Flames on January 16th. While the result didn’t go the Tsunami’s way, there were still plenty of bright spots to take away from the night. Luke Curtin and Nolan Caruso each found the back of the net with impressive goals, and Brayden Burrows was rock-solid between the pipes, facing an incredible 53 shots. After 60 hard-fought minutes, the Flames skated away with a 4–2 win.

The schedule doesn’t slow down for the Tsunami, with a busy stretch ahead. Fans can catch the boys back at home on January 24th at 5:00 as they take on the Langley Trappers, and be sure to dust off your hat and boots, because it’s Country Night at the GACC. From there, the Tsunami hit the road to face the Chilliwack Jets on January 25th, the Richmond Sockeyes on January 29th, and then return to Chilliwack once again on January 30th.

To wrap up the month, the Tsunami return home on January 31st at 5:00 to face the Port Coquitlam Trailblazers in a game that means far more than the standings. The night will be dedicated to Michal Habetin, who recently suffered a tragic on-ice accident. As Michal begins a long road to recovery, the hockey community has come together to support him and his family during an incredibly difficult time.

Following the game, the Tsunami will host a social and silent auction to help raise funds in support of Michal. The social begins at 7:30 and is open to everyone, you do not need to attend the game to take part. In the weeks leading up to the event, Tsunami players will also be out in the community doing their part to raise awareness and support. The Tsunami invite everyone to come out, stay after the game, and stand together in support of one of our own, because hockey is more than a game.

This is what the hockey community is all about,
