Sunshine Coast, B.C. – General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield announced today that the Tsunami has traded 2004-born goaltender and team Captain Nick Peters (Powell River, BC.) to the SIJHL’s Red Lake Miners in exchange for future considerations.
Peters (5’9”, 190 pounds) came to the Coastal Tsunami from the VIJHL after three seasons with the Campbell River Storm and quickly took on a leadership role with his new team.
In 29 games on the Sunshine Coast, Peters posted 12 wins and 16 losses. The first goaltender to commit to the organization registered a 3.38 goals against average, a .919 save percentage, and three shutouts.
“At Pete’s request, we have moved him to the Red Lake Minors of the SIJHL in Ontario. Nick will be reunited with his former coach, Lee Stone (Campell River Storm), to finish his junior career,” said General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield.
“We want to thank Pete for his time with us and are grateful for his contributions on and off the ice. He’s a class act, and we wish him, Coach Stone, and the Red Lake Miners the best of luck with the remainder of the season.”
The organization would like to thank Nick Peters for contributing to the Coastal Tsunami.
