ROCKY NORDVIE COMMITS WITH TSUNAMI

Sunshine Coast, B.C. – General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield announced today that the team has committed to 2005-born forward Rocky Nordvie (Sechelt, BC).

Nordvie (5’10”, 170 pounds) spent the past two seasons in the VIJHL with the Port Alberni Bombers and Kerry Park Islanders. Last season, he recorded a goal and an assist in 22 regular season games with the Islanders.

“It’s huge for me to have the opportunity to come home to the Coast to play for the Tsunami; it’s been a full circle journey,” said Nordvie. “I’m excited and can’t wait to start,” he added.

The left-shot forward is the sixth local-born player to sign with the Tsunami.

“We are excited to add Rocky to the Tsunami and very pleased to bring this veteran player home to the Coast,” said Head Coach and General Manager Brad Wingfield.

“With Nordi, we instantly add a very well-rounded player that can play in all situations; he automatically makes us grittier and adds toughness to Tsunami lineup,” he explained. “He will for sure get the crowds going on home ice and a guy our opponents will surely have to take note of when he’s on the ice,” he added.

Nordvie is the eleventh player committed to playing for the new expansion franchise, the Tsunami, which will begin its preseason in August.
