The Coastal Tsunami (5-2-0-1) is playing four games in seven nights, and it all starts tonight when they host the Surrey Knights (1-7-1).
Led by Head Coach Andy Liboiron, the Knights have not won a game since September 19, when they beat the Aldergrove Kodiaks 7-2. Surrey is coming off a 5-3 loss to the Delta Ice Hawks, where they managed to keep the game close but ultimately failed to score on the five power play opportunities that they had.
Desperate to get back into the win column, the Knights hope for a big performance from their 2006-born rookie, Neland Voshell. The product of South Surrey, BC, leads his team in points with two goals and six assists for eight points across nine games. He’s a face that the Coastal Tsunami must keep their eyes on.
Speaking of faces, the Coastal Tsunami has made some roster transactions this week, including trading for 2005-born defenceman Caige Starr and acquiring 2004-born defenceman Jayden Attwood. Both players will bring more energy to this Tsunami roster and add valuable veteran experience. Starr (22) and Attwood (25) are expected to dress tonight.
Following tonight’s game, the Tsunami hit the road for a meeting in Delta on Tuesday and a visit to Langley on Wednesday before heading home to host that same Langley team for a Thanksgiving-inspired tilt on Saturday.
