Gibsons, British Columbia, August 27, 2024 –
Coastal Sports and Entertainment Group Ltd. is pleased to announce that Lauren Runge has been hired as the Athletic Therapist of the Pacific Junior Hockey League’s newest franchise based out of Gibsons, British Columbia. It will commence play in September 2024 for the 2024-2025 PJHL season.
Runge grew up in Collingwood, Ontario, and moved to British Columbia in 2022. She obtained her Bachelor of Health Sciences in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan and earned her certified athletic therapist designation in 2022.
The Ontario native also has experience as an athletic therapist covering various sports, such as rugby 7s, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey.
“It means a lot to join the team; it means joining a family, a group of people that all have a common goal: to produce the best people and win some hockey games while we are at it,” she said.
“The Coastal Tsunami is excited to have Lauren Runge as our Athletic Therapist. Lauren helped at our Alumni game in December and has fit in very well with our team,” said Director of Operations Rick Hopper. “Lauren also holds both an Athletic Therapists degree and a Kinesiology degree and serves as our Strength & Conditioning Coach,” he added.
