Sunshine Coast, BC. – The Coastal Tsunami is pleased to share the news that 2007-born forward Oliver Nottingham (New Westminster, BC) will represent his team at this year’s 2024 BCHC Top Prospects Game.
Head Coach Cullen Revel (Richmond Sockeyes), assistant coaches Andy Liboiron (Surrey Knights), Jarrett Craig (Abbotsford Pilots), Caymen Froude (Coastal Tsunami), and Operations Managers Derek Bedard (Ridge Meadows Flames) and Will Kump (Richmond Sockeyes) have guided the PJHL’s roster selection process over the past month.
Prospects Game rosters are composed primarily of 2007- and 2008-born players, with a maximum of six 2006-born players eligible to be selected.
Nottingham (6’0”, 180 pounds) spent the past season with the Grandview Steelers, scoring four goals and recording 17 assists for 21 points in 47 regular-season contests. The left-shot forward played in all but one regular-season game with the Steelers.
He leads his current team with eight goals and ten assists for 18 points through 17 games. The left-shot forward has “stepped up to earn this opportunity,” said General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield. “In his second season, he has that experience from last year and has gotten bigger, stronger, and faster,” he added.
Nottingham “has been our go-to guy all season. This is an excellent opportunity for him to showcase himself while representing the Tsunami, and we wish him the best of luck. Hopefully, he can catch the eye of scouts at a higher level,” continued Wingfield.
Being named to the team has proved to Nottingham that hard work does pay off. “It’s an awesome feeling. I worked really hard in the off-season, and this year has been pretty good to me so far. I’m happy to be there,” exclaimed Nottingham.
The PJHL’s Top Prospects Bus will gather in Langley on Monday, November 18th, where they will practice, participate in the WHL Testing Combine, and attend an event banquet before the game the following evening. The 2024 BCHC Top Prospects Game will face off at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, November 19th, and will be broadcast on Flo Hockey.
