Ethan Smid has become the newest player to join the Coastal Tsunami’s inaugural leadership group for the 2024-25 season. He joins captain Nick Peters and fellow alternates Eric Stinson and Nate Hughes.
The 2004-born forward from Williams Lake, BC, is the newest player to have a letter added to his jersey. Smid has appeared in all three of his team’s games so far and has produced a hat trick performance and two assists for five points.
His biggest offensive outburst so far this season came in the home opener last weekend, where Smid scored three goals and assisted on another. He was responsible for four of his team’s seven goals last weekend, and there will no doubt be eyes on him this weekend as he hits the ice.
“With us, we wait for our leaders to reveal themselves, and with Smidy, he did just that; he goes about life and hockey in a professional manner and is somebody for all our younger players to look up to and emulate,” said General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield.
Ethan Smid was very proud of joining the leadership group. “It’s an honour. We have a great group of guys, and it’s an honour to be a leader for this group,” said Smid.
