Gibsons, BC— Coastal (15-18-1-1) struggled in their first game back from the holiday break, losing 6-2 to the Port Coquitlam Trailblazers (19-12-2-0).
Port Coquitlam scored five consecutive goals before Coastal could get on the board at the 15:13 mark of the second period. The visitors then scored near the end of the second frame before Coastal finished the scoring with a marker in the third.
Special teams were a struggle for the Tsunami, who went 0/4 on the man advantage and 1/5 on the penalty kill.
Port Coquitlam had goals from Ryan Caughlan (12 PP), Tait Humphries (11 PP), Charlie Gardiner (13), Markus Jack (19 PP, 20 PP), and Milin Aujla (1).
Ben Walker (7) and Raydon Parkes (17) found the back of the net for Coastal.
Coastal is back home on January 3, playing the White Rock Whalers in their first home game of 2025.
