Coastal Sports and Entertainment Group Ltd. is pleased to announce that Caymen Froude has been hired as the Associate Coach of the Pacific Junior Hockey League’s newest franchise based out of Gibsons, British Columbia. It will commence play in September 2024 for the 2024-2025 PJHL season.


Hockey Background:

  • Played minor hockey for the Sunshine Coast Blues
  • Competed in four seasons of junior hockey across the KIJHL and VIJHL
  • Appeared in the 101st Coy Cup with the Penticton Silver Bullets.


Coaching Background:

  • Spent three seasons as Head Coach for SCMHA
  • Led his teams to two provincial appearances in just three seasons
  • Achieved both the regular season and playoff championships in his rookie Head Coach season


Brad Wingfield, Head Coach and General Manager for the Coastal Tsunami, commented: “It’s with pleasure to announce Caymen Froude as associate coach of the Coastal Tsunami; coach Froude is through and through a great addition to our squad; I’ve had the opportunity to work with Caymen for many years, he has a great hockey mind and always brings a team-first attitude to the table, it’s going to be awesome to continue to work with him in developing and building the Tsunami.”


Froude, who has grown up on the Sunshine Coast, commented: “I’m beyond thrilled to join the Tsunami as the associate coach for our inaugural junior hockey season right here in my hometown! This is a dream come true, and I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity,” he exclaimed. “Working alongside Brad Wingfield again is an absolute honour. Our past collaborations have been successful, and I’m excited to bring that winning spirit to the Tsunami,” he said.


Froude added, “I can’t wait to hit the ice with the Tsunami and embark on this exciting journey. Here’s to an amazing season filled with hard work, passion, and unforgettable moments.”
